Arizona Tea Party

Amongst all the hubbub and posturing on the left over their collective inane outrage that people thousands of miles away might decide to try to slow their inundation with illegal aliens, came their cry to boycott the drinking of Arizona Ice Tea.

"Dear Arizona: If you don't change your immigration policy, I will have to stop drinking your enjoyable brand of iced tea," Twittered Jody Beth in Los Angeles.

"It is the drink of fascists," wrote Travis Nichols in Chicago.

Now I have partaken of Arizona Ice Tea from time to time, and I have always found it to be a very tasteful and satisfying beverage. But this is not the reason I am going to go out and empty the stores of this fine product. No, I am going to buy Arizona Ice Tea because I have come to the realization that whatever it is they are thinking they want to do in San Francisco, I would prefer to do the opposite. And I for one am not going to go quietly into the night while some cappuccino sipping sophisticate in a Star Bucks in San Francisco decides what beverage selection I should make, based on his own ass backwards view of the world.

And by the way, Einstein, Arizona Ice Tea is manufactured and bottled in New York.

Arizona Proud

With the passage of the Arizona Legislative law allowing state and local law enforcement officers to verify the citizenship of people they are interacting with has come an opportunity for the great leader of our nation to impugn yet another group of law abiding citizens. This is nothing new, as so far the president has impugned the management of the major automakers, law enforcement officers of Cambridge, US doctors and hospitals, the health insurance companies, Wall Street investors and the US taxpayers as a whole. Well, on to disparaging all the citizens of the great state of Arizona.

The first priority of our federal government is to keep the citizenry safe. Our borders must be secure to do this. Contrary to our president's pronouncements, peace in the Middle East is not a national security issue. Border security in Arizona, Texas and New Mexico is. As per the language in the law passed:

If a police officer comes into “lawful contact” with a person (because their job as a police officer requires them to do so), and the officer has “reasonable suspicion” that the person is an alien or illegal resident, that officer must make a reasonable attempt to ascertain whether that person is in the United States legally. If, in the course of that “lawful contact”, the person provides an Arizona driver’s license, photo ID, tribal identification, or any other piece of identification for which they had to prove their legal residence when they got it, then that person is automatically assumed to be a legal resident.

Shocking, isn't it. A regular Gestapo hell.

Meanwhile, the President has called it misguided and asked the attorney general to look into the constitutionality of the law, tacitly approving unrest in the hispanic community and placing the lives of Arizona citizens and law enforcement officers at risk. For a guy who just a few days ago was concerned about tone and worried about anti-government protest and potential violence, he suddenly has lost his bearings.

Rather than providing leadership and addressing the problems our Southwest and nation as a whole has with illegal immigration, this president has chosen to inflame the situation for his political gain. It goes without saying that the law passed in Arizona was not brought into being because the people of Arizona are racist or bitter or hateful people. It occurred because the Federal government has failed. This is not something he should be bringing attention to. It is something President Obama should be embarrassed by.

Sandra Bullock To Divorce Jesse James

Sandra Bullock has filed to divorce her husband of five years, the brooding motorcycle mechanic Jesse James. I try to support marriages whenever I can, even after mistakes have been made. Sadly, it appears Jesse has been dishonest in his marriage for a very long period of time, and I think it unlikely he can change easily. I hope he will, for his behavior is personally destructive and will result in him being very disappointed with what comes of it. But for her sake I believe the right choice is to take the action she has.

Obama Threatens to Extend Reach Over Arizona

Ever looking to stomp his muddy boots over the backs of average Americans, President Obama slammed a controversial new immigration law passed by the state legislature in Arizona, calling it "misguided." According to CNN:

"Our failure to act responsible at the federal level will only open the door to irresponsibility by others. That includes, for example, the recent efforts in Arizona, which threaten to undermine basic notions of fairness that we cherish as Americans, as well as the trust between police and their communities that is so crucial to keeping us safe," the president said at a naturalization ceremony for 24 members of the military.

The 'efforts' in Arizona the President refers to is a state law, passed by the state legislature with 70% support from the people that live there, and signed into law by the duly elected Governor.

That is not misguided, Mr. President, that is called people governing themselves, enacting changes to affect their best interests, as they see fit. I realize you were not asked for permission on this, and I know that's hard to hear, but the fact is your opinion doesn't weigh in when the people of a state decide they need to better protect themselves from the flood of illegal immigrants that the Federal government is charged with dealing with, but which it shows increasing reluctance to do.

"In fact, I've instructed members of my administration to closely monitor the situation and examine the civil rights and other implications of this legislation. But if we continue to fail to act at the federal level, we will continue to see misguided efforts opening up around the country."

Misguided? As opposed to Your job stimulus bill, Your bail-out of the financial sector, Your take-over of Chrysler and GM, or Your biggest bag so far, Your government take over of the healthcare services industry by passage of Your laughably titled Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act?

Look, Bare, if you think it is misguided, odds on... it's genius.

The New York Times has flattered themselves by weighing in on the topic, and as usual their editorial style delivery of a news piece results in pretzel like conclusions. After investigating the story, the Times offers the following:

Ms. Brewer has spent the last 27 years in elected politics — as a member of both houses of the Arizona Legislature over a 14-year span, as a Maricopa County supervisor, as secretary of state for seven years and as governor — but she has rarely sought the limelight.

It is a personality parade, a question of political acumen, and of mixed loyalties. Well, strike three, you're OUT!

Forget the Times, what does the governor have to say:

“Border-related violence and crime due to illegal immigration are critically important issues to the people of our state,” she said on Friday after signing the immigration bill. “We cannot sacrifice our safety to the murderous greed of drug cartels. We cannot stand idly by as drop houses, kidnappings and violence compromise our quality of life.”

That looks pretty clear to me. These people are attempting to protect themselves. President Obama should concern himself with the same issue, not just sell them out.

Coffee Party Founder Tastes Strange Brew

Annabel Park was a 42 year-old Korean-American who had tired of hearing about how the Tea Party movement represented real America. She imagined the legitimate alternative to the 'hysteria' of the Tea Partiers would be a group where people could come together and discuss things reasonably. Posting her thoughts on her My Space one January day resulted in a cascade of support from others wanting to challenge the Tea Party.

Last Saturday The Coffee Party launched its first set of meetings, but as described in Newsweek, Annabel was shocked to discover the tone was not all that she had imagined. She had anticipated a coming together of engaged, intelligent citizens who had tired of the angry rhetoric and accusations she felt represented the Tea Partiers. She imagined people of all political persuasions joining in a spirit of equanimity to discuss the nation's problems, and maybe even share a laugh. That's not quite what unfolded down at Busboys and Poets, a hip bookstore in Washington DC.

"But from the moment folks in the crowd stood up to speak their minds, Park knew these people had not come to sip cappuccinos and set an example of civility for an overheated nation. They were angry. They hated the Tea Party, and the Republican Party. They wanted to get even. "

Wow, that's a lot of hostility, man.

"Park, a 42-year-old Korean-American with a smile that can only be described as "kind," regularly tried to steer the talk back to the group's more centrist principles. But when someone asked how many people in the room were Republicans, all 80 hands remained down. "I like the civility idea, but I hate the Tea Party people," said attendee Karen Anderson."

Hate? Hate is a pretty strong word, Karen. And Annabel isn't really into hate. That's what this protest, or counter-protest, was all about...you know, an anti-hate movement.

"By the end of the event, some in the crowd had decided the movement, barely two months old at the time, needed a new leader. China Dickerson, a 26-year-old community organizer, said the Coffee Party wouldn't last "unless we get someone a little more powerful to head it." She wanted a rabble-rouser, "not someone that says we can all work together." Park seemed a little rattled after the meeting. "If they want to fire me, this may not be the group for them," she said later. "We don't want conflict and confrontation."

Well, you may not want conflict and confrontation, but the people that are anti-teaparty...they're all about conflict and confrontation. And their first collective action will be to initiate a little change. That's where China's 'community organizer' skills will come into play, and her first item of business will be to give you the axe.

Now that President Barrack has ruined the nations economy and buried us all in a massive debt with his hair-brained schemes of brazenly outrageous spending, it is time to soak you all with another lallapalooza of a massive tax increase. The tiresome motions that with the help of the media smoke screen have fooled the nation time and again are all on display once more.

Before deciding what revenue options are best for dealing with the deficit and the economy, Obama said in an interview with CNBC, "I want to get a better picture of what our options are."

'Get a better picture of what our options are.' How about quit proposing trillion dollar expenditures and ramming them down the nations collective throat on the backs of your parties majority and parliamentary trickery. Here's the guidance we are getting:

'Guess what, fellas? We have a huge debt problem. Go figure! And that is just irresponsible. We have to do something about it.'

And the solution this clown comes up with? Stop government bail-outs of private industry? Stop expansion of the Federal bureaucracy into the healthcare industry? Stop blowing trillions of dollars at a time to poorly named government 'projects'?

No, no, no!

The solution that he has come up with: Tax EVERYBODY! For EVERYTHING!! And how is that done, you ask? VAT Tax. Tax this, tax Vat. Everything you do, at every point along the way, tax at every exchange. What that will mean is that everything produced here will be produced vat considerably greater expense. And do you know what vat means? Hmmm? Vat will result in decreased productivity, decreased consumption, and DECREASED VAX REVENUES!



I know, I know....I have to stop yelling. But this is just too much. It's all about increasing government control and changing the country in which you and I live.

Quarterback Tim Tebow of the University of Florida Gators was selected by the Denver Broncos with the 25th selection of the first round of the NFL draft. The Broncos traded a host of lower round picks to obtain a second selection in the first-round. The Broncos top choice was used to select Georgia Tech's Demaryius Thomas, brought in to solve a highly critical need at wide receiver. Thomas was selected with the 22nd overall pick.

Clearly the Denver coaching staff were excited to make the selection, and believe the athletic Tebow will make a valuable contribution to their football team. NFL talent scouts have been slow to embrace the highly physical and tough minded competitor, largely due to his unorthodox throwing style and lack of experience in running plays out of a pro-style offense. Tebow's mechanics and throwing motion were dissected repetitively in the weeks leading up to the draft, but the scrutiny has not soured the young athlete.

"I loved it, because it was so much football," Tebow said. "I enjoyed that. I enjoyed the working process and all the critics and negativity, it only pushed me that much more and made me work that much harder. I can honestly say that I think that made me better.

"I think that was a positive thing for me, to be honest with you. I believed in myself. I believed in the people that are around me and supporting me. I thank my quarterback coaches, for the work they put in, in constantly getting better," Tebow said.

Tim Tebow has shown himself to be an admirable young man, and he will remain so in my mind regardless of what happens at the professional level.

I have never been a Florida fan. Quite the opposite in fact, with my affections going to rivals LSU, Georgia and Auburn. The Gators under Steve Spurrier, and later under Urban Meyer just drove me crazy. There was always a nervous excitement in watching teams I supported play Florida, and from time to time they got the better of the Gators. But more often then not with Tebow at the helm, it was Florida that was handing out the hurt.

Regardless of who won or who lost, I always enjoyed the gritty toughness and competitive drive of their quarterback, Tim Tebow. Dealing with Tebow was a problem. Watching Tim play with the passion and determination he brought to the field was the best thing about playing football against the Gators. More importantly, through it all I always had the sense that it was of secondary importance to the tough as nails, highly competitive quarterback. As hard as he played and as much as he wanted to win, his faith in the Lord was foremost in his heart. That is something I greatly admire and desire to emulate.

I wish Tim Tebow all the success in the world.

Man On Fire

President Obama found himself in the position of yelling at critics of his administration.

Heckled, harassed and shouted down, the President found that he no longer could express himself in the usual metered, relaxed tone that has been the hallmark of his eloquence.

The protests brought the speech to a halt, and the protesters did not lower their voices after others in the crowd urged them to end their shouting.

"What about 'Don't ask, don't tell?'" one protester shouted, according to a White House pool report.

Obama yelled back: "We are going to do that."

Nice to see the man finally find his passion. Give 'em hell, Barry.

Obama, Bill Clinton Bitter Over Governing A Free People

"Former President Bill Clinton warned of a slippery slope from angry anti-government rhetoric to violence like the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing"

The latest rounds of misgivings espoused by former President Bill Clinton, and echoed in the recent comments of current President Obama, underscore both men's lack of confidence in free societies and their discomfort at having the public question the direction their leadership is taking the country.

“I've been a little amused over the last couple of days where people have been having these rallies, about taxes. You would think they would be saying, "Thank you!" That's what you'd think!"

Well, perhaps that is what you might think, Mr. President. It is not what I would think.

The right to peacefully assemble and petition the government is an essential aspect of our heritage. It is the clearest expression of the idea that a nation should be governed by the people themselves. Governing against the will of the people is anathema to our shared American traditions. Never has it been more clear that our current president holds none of those great ideas in regard than when he scoffed at the Tea Party movement in his comments in Florida.

The Constitution of the United States is a remarkable document, for it lays out the general ideas of government that resulted in the freest, most inventive and industrious people that the world has ever known. This great nation has served as a beacon of freedom, and has been the refuge and hope of all the world.

The right to peacefully assemble and petition the government is constitutionally guaranteed to the people in our First Amendment. This, the first of ten amendments promised at the constitutional convention, are commonly referred to as our Bill of Rights. They are the essential building blocks of freedom, as they define that the powers of the government are limited, and subject to the people governed.

The lack of comfort shown by both men, despite the considerable time they spent training in the law, underscores a deeply held misgiving and lack of trust they hold toward the core principles in the nations founding. If we are to listen to Bill Clinton and Barrack Obama, we must elevate these men as not only our betters, but the betters of the men who founded this country.

Can we in good faith do that? Can we disregard the insight, wisdom and commitment to freedom and personal liberty held by such men as Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, James Madison, Benjamin Franklin and George Washington? Could it be that a man commonly referred to as 'slick willy', who lied before Congress and a Grand Jury, who was disbarred from the practice of law for the disrespect he demonstrated for the law, should be held up as a wiser man and a man of better character and understanding then the founders of the great nation that we all live in today? And do we really believe that the disdain that Barrack Obama holds for those in this nation that disagree with him elevate Barrack to a more lofty position than our first president, who lead this nations fighting men for seven years, weathering great deprivation, hardship and doubt?

We are a nation founded under the idea that the people should be free, and with the understanding that the greatest threat to that freedom is the nation's own government.

This never was more true than it is today.

Obama's Have Big Year

As we struggle under crushingly poor economic times, mind numbing government spending and a pending massive increase in our tax burdens, it is heartening to know that the Big O had a big year.

Usually moving to the helm of the nation does not place one amongst the nation's highest earners, but the President has been a transformative figure in many ways, not the least of which is his capacity to sell himself to the mindless Obama-zombies of the left. Apparently the book business has been very, very good to Barry, and made up the bulk of his earnings. His taxable income for 2009 was a whopping 5.5 million, mostly off the sale of his two autobiographies.

The guy won two Grammys for reading his damn books? Out loud?! What a country!!

Anyways, those numbers did not even include the 1.4 million dollars that went along with his winning the Nobel Peace Prize. It all has resulted in a big, big boom year for Barry. And we can all feel good about that.

Barne Defines National Security Interests

A phrase at the end of President Obama’s news conference on Tuesday was a stark reminder how the President views the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, of the far-reaching shift his presidency means to US Foreign Policy, and how aggressively he intends to push the Israelis for a 'peace agreement'.

The United States has a moral obligation to prevent the death of the five million Jews that live in the Middle East. Failing, faltering, or even telegraphing that the United States is no longer committed to the preservation of this peaceful people among their Arab neighbors is a moral failing on the part of this administration. In a recent poorly thought out comment, the President made the blunder of airing his frustration over being unable to force what he wants on a free people. Usually this kind of frustration is directed toward the American people, but in this case it was directed toward the Jews of Israel.

"Mr. Obama declared that resolving the long-running Middle East dispute was a “vital national security interest of the United States”

No one can resolve the long running Middle East dispute, Mr. President, because the Islamic Arabs and Islamic Persians that arm them do not want a resolution to the dispute. Unless of course that resolution invloved the utter destruction of Israel, and the massacre of all her people. Demanding peace in a conflict where one side clearly rejects peace is either foolish, heartless or both. It would be like insisting Elin Woods keep fidelty alive and well in her marriage. All the good will in the world on her part will not change the troubled thinking of Tiger. He may turn a page, and I hope he does, but there is nothing that Elin can do to make it so.

Presenting things that are out of ones control as being imperative as a vital US national security interest pressures those we have influence over. Now, one could say it equally pressures the Palestinian Authority with the threat of withdrawal of US support, but clearly the President is not doing that. And even if he did, what are the odds such a position would make a difference to their leadership? No, it is clearly Israel that this thickhead of a president intends to hamstring.

"Mr. Obama said conflicts like the one in the Middle East ended up “costing us significantly in terms of both blood and treasure” — drawing an explicit link between the Israeli-Palestinian strife and the safety of American soldiers as they battle Islamic extremism and terrorism in Iraq, Afghanistan and elsewhere."

It's Israel's fault that we have troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. That's an interesting notion you have come up with, Mr. President. Novel, really, and from it the notion falls that if Israel were to go away than our troubles with the Islamists that want to kill us and subjugate us would go away too. The survival of freedom and democracy in the Middle East is hindering our own bliss.

Well Mr. President, Israel's security may not be of much importance to you, but it is most certainly of importance to me, and to many of the citizens of this nation. What you are willfully ignoring is that the Israelis are a peaceful people. They simply want to be left alone. They are also a great ally to the United States in a region of the world where we have significant national interests at stake and few allies we can count on. Pushing around the Israelis, telling them it makes you angry that they would be building houses in their nation's capitol, and acting as though the nation that has to abide suicide bombers, random rocket attacks and the constant threat of terrorists is the impediment to peace is to admit you are over your head, and are hoping no one notices.

Mentor Hunger

There exists in the heart of every young man the desire for a father, to help recognize who they are, to place value on their lives beyond accomplishment, and who will love them regardless. This was never more apparent than the recent dust up over the off-field antics of another professional athlete. Ben "Big Ben" Roethlisberger is a talented, strong arm, long ball quarterback for the rugged Pittsburgh Steelers. He is also just another young man, whose notoriety and status as a professional football player is as likely to harm him as it is to help him. Crashing a motorcycle and knocking himself senseless was a tip off that not all was well with young Ben, but the latest bar scene flap is a little more dangerous in terms of being a statement of where he is at, and it is the thin ice of life that he has decided upon.

It was with interest, then, to hear of Terry Bradshaw, Hall of Famer and former Pittsburgh great, attempting to come alongside Ben and advise him in the choices he was making. So far, Ben has pressed ahead with Fred Flintstone like single mindedness. Well, they say there are two ways you can go about learning something. Thus far Ben is going with painful and embarrassing. And what did Terry have to say?

"There's nothing greater if you're single than to walk into a bar with beautiful women, and have them just fill your ego up. And you ask yourself, 'Would they pay any attention to you if you weren't, you know, who you are?' Of course not. Because I'm not that attractive, and neither is Ben. So it's nice when you can throw a football."

That puts things into perspective very well. Meanwhile some hack sports writer is giggling over the fact that Terry was never perceived as a cerebral kind of guy, unlike some newspaper writers we all all have to endure. It seems he always struck him as a simple country boy that 'don't know nothin'.

Hey, paperboy, that's an image Terry cultivated. My guess is he felt it would disarm people and help him sell himself after the game was gone. And there is a lot of truth to the image of country boy, but one thing those uptown newspaper sophisticates just never seem to learn is that being a country boy from the South doesn't make you slow. The man read the best defenses in the NFL, took a pounding and lead his team to four Superbowl Championships. Dumb quarterbacks don't do that. Ever.

"Our relationship is not any good. When I told him to park the motorcycle, he got pissed. Alright? Then he had the accident. And since then, there's, you know ... he doesn't like me, and I'm learning not to like him."

The fact is, it doesn't matter to Terry whether Ben wrecks his life or not, but speaking from experience, it is painful to watch people you care about drive into the brick walls of life. Painful. The thing for Terry is to be ready to hold out a hand in friendship. You can't make Ben do the right thing. But sooner or later, the opportunity to love him as a brother will arise.

Jay Currie's foil, the very capable but quite liberal Dr. Dawg, has been all in a tizzy about the Tea Party movement, disparaging it's members and claiming that they are white supremacists and others of the non-enlightened among us. Well, here you go, Dawg.




You will not need to wait for evidence to tar the Tea Party people. More of your own are out there generating the story you've been pining for.

Some would argue that this is part of the democratic process, that these people have a right to speak there mind as well as anyone, and that this effort is just a clever version of political speech.

Anyone capable of making that argument is capable of understanding the difference between presenting one's opinion and disguising yourself to falsely represent your neighbor. It is a type of character assassination, which for the morally challenged among us is specifically listed in the Ten Commandments as sinful behavior. "Thou shalt not bear false witness" is not limited to truth telling in word only, but in deed as well. It specifically speaks of the sinfulness of misrepresenting the actions and character of another person. Here the left footmen are playing to the left leaning media, looking to provide it with bogus evidence that would support the narrative that they have been passing off as reporting all along.

Obamas to Appear on "American Idol"

At last, a setting where I could be happy to see the Obama's. Barry could pour his energy into leaving a lasting impression on the judges, and the nation would remain safe from harm. But alas, the headline was too good to be true, and as we read the body of the text we realize that instead of the hoped for three to four month stint, the Obama's will be limited to a 30 second spot.

Don't you sometimes wish we could just be on a different planet or something?

Writing interesting, edgy, thought provoking pieces is standard fair for fan favorite April Gavaza, and the coveted Steyn link is not unheard of... but the Hyacinth Girl went Big League with the mention of her blog on The Rush Limbaugh Show. Twenty million listeners, 5 million at any one time...that's big time. And she did it with the hard truth:

"We are a lazy, spoiled, ADHD culture–soft and uninterested in thinking for ourselves. At least my generation is."

Did I say Rush mentioned her blog? Well, actually he read the entire post, Uplifting, and read it very well I might add.

Obama to Nation: 'Better Put Some Ice On That'

He's long winded, sure.

After having his way with the unwilling object of his affection, Bill knocked out the same sentiment with the six word phrase above. These guys are nothing if not polite. What a striking show of compassion and good will.

It's nice to know he cares.

Obama Lashes Out at Critics

Taking partisanship on Capital Hill to a new level, President Barrack Obama savaged critics of his policies earlier today with a level of venomous heat usually reserved for back room lashings with Rahm Emanual.

"In an interview with Harry Smith on CBS' "Early Show" Friday morning, President Obama called out Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh as purveyors of "vitriol"

In going public with his thinly veiled rage at opponents of Obamacare and the Obamanation of the auto and banking industries, the President sank the Office of the Presidency to the level of radio talk show personalities.


The President's comments followed shortly after an unflattering likeness was posted on an internet blog site equating Barrack Obama with national icon Alfred E. Neuman. The posting may have wounded the president's all important self-image, getting under his skin and driving his reckless comments on CBS News.

Backing away from the edge just a tad, the President offered the following:

"It happens often when you've got an economy that is making people more anxious and people are feeling that there's a lot of change that needs to take place. But that's not the vast majority of Americans."

Well, exactly. The change you have been imposing upon the citizenry is not what was in the mind of the vast majority of Americans. That's why they're angry.

If you want change to happen in the dialogue Mr. President, try leading by example. After-all, you are our elected leader. You get to show the way. Quit walking out on our allies and disregarding the American people. And Barry, if you want people to be less critical of the damage you are doing to the Republic, stop acting like you're king.

We are a free people.

'What, Me Worry?' Obama in Free Fall

President Barrack Hussein Obama's approval ratings have taken a major dive with his forcing the nation to accept a government run healthcare program. Concerns over costs, concerns over governmental intrusion, concerns over the decline of the world's greatest healthcare system and concerns over the manner in which this major undertaking was "passed into law" without the normal parliamentary procedures have all resulted in the president's approval stepping off the plane at 30,000 feet.

"It's fun to feel the air whipping through my hair. It's really a thrill!"

A recent poll reported at CBS News shows the president's callous handling of the nation the people entrusted him with have resulted in a sharp response from the plebes.

"President Obama's overall job approval rating has fallen to an all-time low of 44 percent, down five points from late March, just before the health bill's passage in the House of Representatives. It's down 24 points since his all-time high last April."

This is in spite of his legislative 'achievement.'

"The latest CBS News Poll, conducted between March 29 and April 1, found Americans unhappier than ever with Mr. Obama's handling of health care - and still worried about the state of the economy."

I must admit, it is fun to feel the wind whipping through your hair. Rock on , Mr. President.

Blogger Announces "I'm A Hetero!"

Hot on the heels of Ricky Martin's announcement on his personal blog that he's gay, and "True Blood" star Anna Paquin's wholly unnecessary and tiresome announcement that she is bisexual, cutting edge blogger 'nicholas' has announced to the world that he is excitingly heterosexual.

"I think there is a lot of interest in this around the blogosphere, and I think this is something that should get out there so people can digest it, talk about it and put whatever emphasis on it that it's due."

The bold admission was made in a rather unusual way ... posted ...on a blog.

"Elton John and Ricky Martin have come out, Anna Paquin is out there with where she's at with the whole situation, and I just felt I needed to get it out there as well.

Hmm.

"I've been digging chicks for a long time. It's obvious. That's just something that I can see God got right...Big Time."

All right. Well, that about covers it.

"Yo Ho, Yo Ho..."

Somali pirates have once again selected a US Navy warship as their target, with the result being their skiff was disabled, boarded and crew captured, followed by the sinking of the skiff. The mother ship was then located and the pirate crew taken off that ship and captured as well.

"The USS Nicholas, a guided missile frigate, was tracking the pirates when they opened fire early Thursday in Indian Ocean waters, the U.S. military said."

They look harmless enough in custody in the brig, but they do not appear that way if you are a fishing trawler or merchant ship, and they decide to come tearing up beside you firing off AK 47's and RPG rounds. They will wound, kill, board, capture, and ransom off or kill the survivors without a second thought. It all falls under their general notion of appropriate treatment of non-muslims. The media want to play it off as a poverty story, but there are lots of poor places in the world, and yet they are not all infested with pirates.

The sad part of the story is the excessive restraint and general lack of direction the US Navy has been given in dealing with the pirates. It just so happens this particular target they were unable to handle. Perhaps not the next time.
